Where There’s Smoke is a powerful new theatre production grounded in 10 years of creative wānanga with rangatahi across Aotearoa. The script is backed by evidence and forms part of Charlizza Matehe's doctoral research on rangatahi suicide and mental health. It pays tribute to our very first suicide prevention show, Smoke & Mirrors, which toured Aotearoa in 2015 and ignited a kaupapa that has stood the test of time.
While suitable for whānau audiences, parental guidance is advised due to sensitive themes around suicide and grief. This show was created to open honest, hopeful conversations around mental health and to remind our young people they are not alone. We warmly encourage people working with youth, youth groups and community rōpū to attend together.
