This February, we are back into the swing of our many different kaupapa. Our MokoBoys are out in the community, our rangatahi kaupapa are up and running and of course, Pakaru Pānui is here delivering rangatahi news to your email.

We are also excited to announce an up and coming opportunity for rangatahi to get involved in our kaupapa.

Over the weekend just gone, our rangatahi leaders facilitated our Toi Matarua ‘25 Recruitment Day! We had around 30 rangatahi attend and get a taster of dance, haka and drama workshops in the lead up to our ‘Undiscovered’ 2025 tour. Yes, that’s right, we are doing an encore of last year’s show with new items, scenes and rangatahi involved! 🤪 So if you missed out last year, stay tuned for the tour dates and locations, coming soon!

MokoBoys is Growing!

This month, the MokoBoys team welcomed Aaliyah (middle) as our newest ‘MokoBoy’! Whaea Daleh (left) has been working hard with the MokoBoys team to reach more of our kaumātua in need. We are super proud of our MokoBoys and the work they do in our community. If you would like to support them, follow their social media accounts where they post about their journey, keep up with the trends and have some laughs as well.

Kia ora team!!

Ko Honey tōku ingoa. Ko Ngati Porou te iwi. I am 17yrs, born in Gisborne and grew up between Te Araroa, Raupunga and Napier. I am the newest member to join the Pakaru Pānui team and am really keen to get involved in this kaupapa. I look forward to getting out in the community to korero with you guys, I’m sure you’ll be seeing a lot of me soon :)

Have you heard about ‘Oh, true’?

‘Oh, true’ is an emerging Instagram kaupapa where Eru Kapa-Kingi (one of the leaders of the Toitū Te Tiriti hīkoi) and Riana Te Ngahue breakdown the fluffy academic stuff, what goes on in Parliament and how it affects us in “the least boring way possible”. We are really excited to see how this kaupapa can support our understanding, as rangatahi, of politics in Aotearoa.
